This event will feature STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) focused projects done by students across all grade-levels at University Elementary. In addition to the student work on display, the event will immerse attendees of all ages in hands-on, interactive maker demonstrations from a wide variety of event partners including Ryan Jenkins, co-founder of the San Francisco Exploratorium's Tinkering Studio, the Children's Museum of Sonoma County, Sonoma County Office of Education, the Sonoma State Maker Lab, DisruptEd (an educational virtual and augmented reality company), Play-Well Engineering (a Lego robotics youth engineering organization), the Sonoma State Physics and Engineering Clubs, origami master Henry Kaku, and many more! The purpose of this event is to promote the importance of project-based learning and maker education to the public.
