There’s something magical about a late-summer evening on the Petaluma River.
On Saturday, September 12, The Floathouse Petaluma stays open until 7:30 pm for one of the final evenings of its popular 2026 Saturday Sunset Series. Rent a kayak, canoe, stand up paddle board, pedal kayak, or water bike—or bring your own boat or board—and experience downtown Petaluma from the water during golden hour. Cruise through the Turning Basin past waterfront restaurants and outdoor dining, glide beneath the historic D Street Bridge, or head downriver into the quieter marsh-lined channel.
September 12 is also the evening of Petaluma’s annual Craft Beer Festival on Water Street, making it a perfect night to come downtown, get on the river, and stay for dinner, drinks, and an evening in Petaluma. Bring friends. Bring a snack. Bring your dog. Bring your peaceful intentions.
Want some company on the water? Floathouse Crew leads a casual guided outing at 5:30 pm; arrive between 5:15 and 5:25 pm to join. Self-guided rentals can launch anytime. Saturday, September 12 — Open until 7:30 pm Can’t make this one? There’s one final Saturday Sunset of the season: Saturday, October 10 — Open until 6:30 pm
This is your river. Come out and play. Details and registration: thefloathousepetaluma.org/events
