Ruth and her family are short on hope as Christmas draws near. Life for the students living in the orphanage next door is even less hopeful this Christmas. Soup kitchens like the Lord's Kitchen are meeting the needs of the youngest, most vulnerable among us, as the Great Depression grips the city. Churches and other faith communities spring into action to make life better for the orphans and meet the needs of the disenfranchised experiencing homelessness and hunger. Invite your friends and family to enjoy this message of hope as we visit the city of San Francisco int he year 1936.
