DESCRIPTION:New World Ballet and the Marcus Shelby Orchestra come together in this special holiday production of Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn's Nutcracker Suite.\n\n\n\nNew World Ballet students\, Junior Company\, and Senior Company members will share the stage alongside professional dancers with live accompaniment by the Marcus Shelby Orchestra.\n\n\n\nIn Act I\, the re-imagination of the E.T.A. Hoffmann holiday classic takes place in 1920's Harlem and features a diverse cast of characters. In Act II\, New World Ballet's Junior and Senior companies will perform pieces to holiday favorites such as Santa Baby and Winter Wonderland!\n\n\n\nThe production is choreographed by New World Ballet's esteemed Artistic Director\, Victor Temple (Dance Theater of Harlem\, Oakland Ballet\, Cirque du Soleil).\n\n\n\nCome celebrate the holidays and support a local dance academy from Santa Rosa\, CA!\n\n\n\nNew World Ballet offers pre-professional dance education to dancers ages three years to adult in Sonoma County.
