Rohnert Park Armed Forces Banner Program
The Rohnert Park Armed Forces Banner Program was recently created for our community to honor and recognize individuals on active duty in the military. These service members either reside in or have immediate family members who reside or work in the City of Rohnert Park. The banners will be displayed as long as the member remains on active duty and presented to the individual or family with appropriate ceremony when removed. The “pilot” program to install a few banners in the City Center Plaza area will take place soon. Banners will have a picture of the service member and will be similar in size to the Farmer’s Market and Spreckels banners.
If you know of any military member that meets the criteria above, please let me know how to contact them or their family. There are many communities in Southern California with similar programs, but none in the greater Bay Area. With your help, we can make this an honorable method for Rohnert Park to show our military members that we are grateful for their service.
This Banner Program is supported with funding provided by local sponsors and families (cost of each banner is estimated at around $130). Banners will be printed and installed with available funding. Donations to the program are cheerfully accepted. The Rohnert Park Chamber of Commerce has offered to keep track of the finances for the program.
