Dear PG&E stakeholders,

This month, we are excited to highlight the two international certifications we received as a result of our commitment to transforming our gas operations and building a strong safety culture. Lloyd's Register Energy, an independent, internationally recognized auditor, awarded the certifications. In fact, PG&E is the first utility in the United States and one of only a few in the world to hold both of these certifications.

Earlier this year, Lloyd's Register traveled throughout our 70,000-square-mile service area reviewing safety practices, information and risk-management policies, employee qualifications, emergency-response protocols and more than 20 additional critical areas of asset management.

The certificates represent more than two years of hard work, including inspecting pipeline, replacing pipeline, and validating maximum allowable pressure.

We are proud of our progress and the great strides we're making toward world-class safety performance. But we still have more to do to become the safest, most reliable gas company in the country.

Mercedes owners find certified quality at Blake’s Auto Body

Mercedes-Benz owners take pride in their automobiles as the brand resonates with quality, so when a vehicle needs to be repaired after an accident or vandalism it is important that a collision repair facility meet the owners’ high standards.

Blake’s Auto Body, with locations in San Rafael, Novato, Rohnert Park and Santa Rosa, was recently recognized as one of a very few Mercedes-Benz Tier-2 Elite Certified repair locations.

When Mercedes-Benz initially implemented its certification program about a decade ago, Blake’s was the only Mercedes-Benz Certified Collision Center. Only during the past year and a half has Mercedes introduced a more extensive program for aluminum structural repair.

To qualify Blake’s had to pass an audit proving they have the appropriate equipment and the training. They were immediately certified although other companies had to complete multiple audits and corrective actions to receive the certification, explained Owen Baumert, chief operating officer for the auto repair chain that has been in business in the Bay Area the last 33 years. They are now only one of two Elite Aluminum Certified collision repair facilities in Northern California.

According to owner Blake Andros, Blake’s Auto Body’s continued investment in the latest equipment and training made this possible. “We provide genuine Mercedes-Benz replacement parts, offer Mercedes-Benz approved equipment, dedicated fixture benches approved by Mercedes-Benz to assure assembly line accuracy and ASE, I-CAR and Mercedes-Benz certified technicians.”

Almost 1,000 Mercedes vehicles are repaired at Blakes’ shops each year. Blake’s Auto Body can be found online at www.blakesautobody.com.

“Receiving this rare certification continues to coincide with our goals of quality and customer satisfaction,” Andros added.
